Instead, UMD EA Scholarships are aimed to partially help defer the cost associated with off-campus study for this enriching opportunity to become available to more of our undergraduate students.
General Scholarship
Financial need is the primary reason for awarding these scholarships that are fully funded by our office. The amount of the scholarships varies according to the length of the program:
- Winter, Spring Break, and Summer programs: Up to $1,500
- Semester programs: Up to $2,000
- Year-long programs: Up to $4,000 (split over both semesters)
Exchange Waiver
Accepted students in UMD, BMGT, or ENGR Exchange programs are automatically considered for a $1,000 waiver.
Enrolled as an undergraduate.
Graduate students are not qualified.
Students receiving scholarships such as Banneker Key, tuition remission, or Terrapin Commitment are not eligible.
This waiver would help undergraduate students to carry out certain exchange programs, yet it will distribute the available financial aid equitably.

CHT Travel Award
This scholarship is available through the benevolence of the CHT Travel Award. The scholarship levels will depend on the length of the program and the number of qualified applicants.
Mather Family Scholarship
